Happy International Women's Day! Today, let's celebrate the incredible strength and resilience of women everywhere. From the courageous women who have fought for our rights to the inspiring women who continue to shatter glass ceilings in every industry, we are grateful for your unwavering commitment to equality and justice.

When I read that this year's theme for International Women's Day is DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality, I couldn't help but feel compelled to write something. This is a topic that I know all too well, having worked and struggled in the STEM sector for over 15 years.

Even in today's world, there remains a persistent gender gap in digital access that continues to hold women back from fully unleashing the potential of technology. Women are still greatly underrepresented in STEM education and careers, which presents a major obstacle to their involvement in tech design and governance. Furthermore, the threat of online gender-based violence is an all too common reality that women face in digital spaces, often leaving them with little legal recourse and forcing them out of these spaces altogether.

Women's Day Outdoor Options

Nature has been a source of healing and resilience for me during times of professional challenges throughout my STEM career, helping me to reduce stress, improve well-being, and regain focus. I believe that spending time in Nature is the perfect way to celebrate the power and strength of your body, as well as the power and strength of all the women around the world!

Taking an ice bath may sound like a crazy idea, it's the ultimate way to give your body a shock it won't forget. Plus, if Chris Hemsworth swears by it, then you know it's gotta be good!

Most spas in the Rockies now offer this service, and many claim that you will emerge feeling like a fierce and unstoppable superhero ready to conquer the world.

History and Significance of International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8th every year. The day has its roots in the early 20th century, when women around the world began to organize and fight for their rights. In 1908, 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding shorter working hours, better pay, and the right to vote. The following year, the first National Woman's Day was observed in the United States on February 28th. In 1911, IWD was celebrated for the first time in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland on March 19th.

Since then, IWD has grown into a global celebration of women's achievements and a call to action for gender equality and women's rights. The United Nations began observing International Women's Day in 1975 and has been celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women since then.
